About the HMS Ark Royal Association
Following suggestions by one or two Facebook users that there should be an Ark Royal Association, a dedicated Facebook group was set up in June 2017 to assess interest. By August that group had nearly 400 members. From that group, an Interim Setup Committee was formed, with the aim of setting up the necessary framework to start recruiting members to the Association ready to hold the Association's first Annual General Meeting in the summer of 2018, when a proper election of Association officials will take place. The venue and date of the first AGM will be promulgated in due course.
HMS Ark Royal Association Interim Setup Committee
Currently chaired by Grant "Nick" Nicholson, the Interim Setup Committee will oversee the running of the Association until a full committee is elected by the Membership at the first Annual General Meeting in 2018. Also on the Setup Committee are John "Whiskey" Walker, Mark "Brum" Weston, George Bone, Dean Pullom, Johnny Hartshorne and Yorkie Stout. Other full Association members may be invited to join the Interim Setup Committee if they express an interest in a Committee role on their Membership Application Form. All Committee posts will be considered to be vacant at the first AGM.
